Privacy Policy
UK Student Sponsors is an independent information site maintained by Salih Enes Metin. For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, contact info@ukstudentsponsors.co.uk. Please do not send passport copies, bank statements or CAS reference numbers.
Information you choose to provide
When you subscribe, we store your email address, the sign-up page and a timestamp in Google Cloud Firestore to send register and visa-guidance updates. The basis is your consent to subscribe. We retain the subscription until you unsubscribe or request deletion. To withdraw, email us; any newsletter we send must also offer an unsubscribe route. We do not sell subscriber addresses or send them to Google Analytics or advertising services.
If you contact us by email, we use your message and reply address to deal with the enquiry or correction. We keep correspondence only as needed for that purpose and applicable legal obligations.
Services and connection information
- Firebase Hosting and Google Cloud Firestore: deliver the site, hold newsletter records and provide sponsor-status responses. Requests necessarily expose connection information such as IP address, browser details and request time to Google. We use these services to deliver and secure the site.
- Google AdSense: may display advertisements on selected editorial pages. Google and advertising partners can receive IP addresses, page information and device/browser details, and may use cookies, web beacons or other identifiers subject to applicable consent requirements. AdSense code is not loaded on our directory, legal or error pages.
- Google Analytics 4: measures page usage on selected editorial pages only after Google's consent integration reports analytics permission as granted or not applicable. It stays unloaded if that signal is denied, missing or unconfigured. We remove query strings and fragments from the page address and referrer supplied in the page-view configuration. - Google Fonts: receives your IP address and normal request information when delivering the site's fonts.
- jQuery and DataTables CDNs: receive normal connection/request information when providing search-table JavaScript and styles. The visible register still works as a static table without these scripts.
- Google Maps: no embedded map is requested until you select “Load Google map”. Loading it sends the provider address query and connection information to Google, whose own policies and storage controls apply. We do not request your GPS location. Opening an external map or provider website likewise takes you to a separate service.
Service providers may process information outside your country. Their privacy terms explain processing locations and applicable transfer safeguards. We do not promise that all service data remains in the UK. Links to providers and app stores are external services with their own privacy policies.
Cookies, consent and browser storage
Advertising and analytics consent defaults are set to denied before Google's ad code loads. The site's integration uses Google's certified consent message when it has been published and applies to your visit. Consent Mode signals are not themselves a consent banner. Ad and consent-service requests can transmit connection information even when personalised advertising is unavailable.
Cookie Preferences opens Google's controls on an editorial page; from an ad-free page you are taken to the homepage to use them. If the message is unavailable, we show an explanation rather than assume consent. You may also clear stored choices using your browser's site-data settings.
Our mobile app promotion uses localStorage key uss_app_banner_dismissed_until only after you dismiss it or choose the app-store link. It remembers that choice for 30 days and our banner code does not transmit that value. Google's consent and advertising services may separately store consent choices or identifiers and communicate consent signals to their service partners; those signals are not purely local.
Merely browsing this site does not mean you have consented to advertising, analytics or newsletters. You can withdraw an optional consent without losing access to the register.
Your rights and contact
Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to applicable processing and withdraw consent. Contact info@ukstudentsponsors.co.uk. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office where applicable.
This site provides information for applicants and parents, not a service asking children to submit personal details. A parent or guardian should contact us if a child has submitted a newsletter address in error.
